Peach Northerns born June 28, 2007!
This is our first brood from this female, and she had 12 babies. Niko is the proud father. Below you can see pictures of both. Niko is the light-colored male on the left, and Peach is the mother on the right. The babies are perfectly tame and all were born healthy. Pick which baby you would like below, and send us an email! Meet Darling. She's a complete sweetheart and is anxious to climb up your hand the moment you put it in her terrarium. She eats great, and would prefer a home where she would receive LOTS of attention. |

This skink's nickname is Mortimer, or Mort for short. He's tame, very handsome, and seems to be somewhat of a leader skink. When housed together as babies, they tend to sleep together, eat together, and just sort of follow each other around. This one seems to try to find his own way and not follow the pack. We often find him in the corners by himself. Perhaps the other babies don't like him, we don't know, perhaps they are jealous of his smooth swagger and good looks? |

This is Gilbert -- he has no special talents, and is just lovable, kissable, and relishes being out of his cage. He's a great eater, and just plain cool & laid back. We call him Gil. You can to. He still has some stuck shed on his face as seen in the picture, so we will be updating the picture asap. |

Ahem, this is El Gordo. Although we haven't fully learned all their individual personalities, we do know that Gordy is, so far, the largest baby of all. This is not because he was born large, but because he eats his food, then his brother's food too. We've tried to stop him, but have since learned this is not a good idea. El Gordo gets what El Gordo wants. He's even already developing a big chin! |

This is Zipper! We gave him this nickname when we noticed that, well, his back looks like a zipper! This is a very cute trait. This guy is quite the little adventurer and loves to climb. He'll climb from your lap to the back of your neck, and then back down. Very tame and sweet -- has never shown aggression. |

This was the runt of the litter, and we call him Dexter. Dex for short. He's a hilariously wirey little acrobat with a funny little head and big eyes. He's incredibly cute and can easily be spotted out of the bunch because of his unique head, eyes, and short body. A runt does not mean he is unhealthy, and in fact, our first year's runt ended up being the largest of the entire brood two years later. Dex has a darling personality and like most BTS, is very curious. |

This light colored baby is named Tilly (Tenderheart, but that was too long!). She is shy, but sweet. She closes her eyes when we pet her head and constantly flickers her blue tongue when exploring uncharted territory. Don't get the wrong idea, she is tame as a kitten, just not quite as outgoing. She would make the perfect cuddle bug, and seems to relish just cudding up on your lap. |

Spotty! He's a little marathon runner, and just might be the most excited one to be alive of the bunch. This one we easily recognize because of the big spot on his back, and I distinctly remember this one CRAWLING out of Peach (not to be gross!). Most babies just plop right out and usually don't move for 30 seconds to a minute. This one literally crawled out, tongue going a hundred miles an hour. He's not shy, very friendly, and is eating great.

Meet Harry! Wow, these personality profiles are becoming difficult because all of them are so tame! This one is quick, friendly, a climber, and seems to bob his head up and down quite a bit when exploring. He's very cute to watch. Eats great, and enjoys handling. |

Ahhh, Bruno the adventurous one. This baby is extraordinarily curious, has perfectly connecting bands which is really cool, and is altogether a terrific pet that will make someone really happy. He's a lover. He also has a neat little X mark on the top of his tail. |

Good golly......it's Ms. Molly. Molly loves being held, eats great, and has beautiful coloration. All of the babies' colors will only intensify with each shed! Molly is also the little daredevil -- perhaps we would have named her something different, but we'd already been calling her Molly for a while! She doesn't have very good depth perception (many blueys lack this sense, hehe) and seems to think she's connected to a hang glider. |

Allow me to introduce Handsome Harold. He's a shy one who keeps to himself and doesn't like to take risks. He plays it safe. He has a wonderful disposition, but likes to take his time. Whoever gets Mr. Handsome will not be disappointed. Update: Harold has completely come out of his shell and has turned into a totally tame and outgoing baby. He also has a neat little "speck" that you can see in the pictures. That's actually a minuscule scale that is completely contrasting in color... |

Blaze has phenomenal orange coloring that will likely lighten up creating a radiant creamy coloration -- his sides look like they came off an entirely different skink. It's really cool -- be sure to click his picture for several good angles. Wow, it almost looks like he's wearing a "skink suit" and that you can see his true color down the middle of his back! |

Hickory here has one of my favorite color patterns of the babies -- he's a light brown and tan in the center of his back, and it turns very dark toward each side. It's possible this could change as with babies, they develop and change quite a bit as they approach one year. He's wonderfully social and curious and is one of the babies that will walk right up to your hand! |

Bella is a little lovebug. She has big fat stripes on her back, and it looks like she will be quite colorful grown up. She has colors very similar to Sassy and likely took on more of her coloration traits than Slurp's. She's a joy to handle, doesn't run away, and cocks her head at every little thing. |

This is Bo, and he is only our second "bowtie" baby ever! Notice his nose, and you will see a perfect little bowtie scale formation. We did our own little study on this on the forum a year or so back and discovered roughly 1 in 200 BTS display this trait. The different scalation doesn't mean anything in particular and is nothing to worry about--it's just a cute trait we don't see too often. This guy loves to stick his nose into things. So, I guess you could say his favorite thing is burrowing although he doesn't dig too much when in his cage...he seems to like blankets! |

This isn't Bungee's best looking photo spread, but it will have to do for now. He's one of the darker babies, but he still has some brilliant orange underneath that surfaces after a shed. They shed so often as babies it's hard to capture the perfect shot. Bungee is cute, friendly, and loves to be out exploring. |

This is Ringo! We call him Ringo because of the spot or ring right in the middle of one of his stripes. The neat thing about this brood of babies is that ALL of them are very friendly—I feel like I'm getting quite repetitive, but it's true—Ringo is as friendly as they come and as curious as the next baby! We love him; and it's neat because there was a baby from our very first brood (2004) that had a spot similar to this one. You can see pictures of him on the IJ page. |

Apollo is very, very dark/dull right now and about to shed. More pics coming soon. He's laid back, cool and collected and will make a lucky person one fabulous pet. It's impossible to say how much of their darkness they will retain at this young age—last year, our darkest baby ended up being almost red so we try to take pictures that will "somewhat" show you what they may look like as adults! It's so hard because they change and brighten with every shed. |

We're sorry to say that MoeNona Irian Jayas will probably not be born this year. (Updated September 16, 2007)
These are very special babies that are a collaboration project involving Renee's goldenrod-colored male IJ "NONA", and a Slurpy/Sassy baby from 2004 "MOE". Moe Dee turned out beautiful and tame since keeping her from the 2004 babies. She's a bright orange and red BTS with an amazing personality and temperament. Since keeping her, we never intended to breed her since we didn't have a male IJ that would be suitable. But lo and behold, Renee Norred's (dragontears on the forum) male IJ, Nona, turned out to be perfect. He is a brilliant "goldenrod" color with once again, an amazing temperament. We thought that this was a match made in heaven, and the breeding was 100% successful. The result in 2006 was eight incredibly colored and gorgeous IJ's. We hope the same for 2007.

The Family of Moe and Nona! (Mother Moe left, Father Nona right, and Baby Maggie bottom from 2006).

Note: The babies listed below are from 2006. They are left up to show how this year's babies will be listed. They are expected anywhere in June-July. Email and get to know us! bluetongueskinks@comcast.net

Doodle is the most mellow, well mannered bluey of the bunch. He almost never hides and is the first to scamper into your hands when the cage is opened. He is content to sit in your hand or just lay around and snuggle. Even if left to wander and explore, he never goes too far.

Bow is named for his special ‘bow-tie’ scale pattern on his nose. He has flaming red/orange coloration and has a spunky personality to match his color. Freckles, named after his adorable spots on his chin, is the explorer of the bunch. Although he is a good eater, he is one of the first to eat his fill and then wander off to inspect things again. He has no qualms about being up in a branch and quite frequently climbs up to his look-out perch. He loves to come out of his cage, but once out, he won’t sit in your hand for long.

Bug loves food. Period. She will eat until there is no food left or until you take the food away. She also has near perfect bands. There are two bands on her tail that fork off a bit, so she humbly admits that she is not perfect. She is really mellow and not too curious and is content to sit in plain sight under the basking light and soak up the heat.
