Baby Blue Tongue Skinks Availability 2006
Babies born June 27, 2006!

Thanks for considering BlueTongueSkinks.Net! Firstly, we would like to make it well known that breeding reptiles is not our actual occupation. We have a small group of blue tongued skinks, and keep and breed them simply for the pure enjoyment. True reptile breeders and pet stores often have many tanks with many animals, and few get personal regular attention. BTS are our main pasttime and hobby, and we do it solely out of love for this species, and this species only.

When purchasing a BTS from us, we want to develop a relationship with each person so that we can keep in contact over the years and watch your animal grow! We are not a "buy and run" type website where you enter in your credit card, and never hear from us again. We simply have a passion for this species, and do what we do solely for that reason. We will speak with you at any time on the telephone with questions and updates, and hope to be in contact with you for a long, long time.

The bluetongueskinks.net forum is also open 24 hours. Also, be sure to check out the babies page!

Below will be this year's list of babies—each has its own individual picture and description.

We accept PayPal and Money Orders, and shipping is $50.00 ($60.00 in the Eastern zone) Overnight UPS. Baby Irian Jaya are $150.00 + Shipping. Each bluey's health is also evaluated, and listed below along with the date they were born. See bottom of page for health key. Remember, along with your purchase you receive UNLIMITED phone support from us. We usually keep the babies for about one month, or until about their first few sheds. This is to make sure they're healthy, eating well, used to human handling, etc.

Please feel free to email us for the possibility of reserving a youngster! We are very selective who we sell to—this ensures our babies go to responsible and loving homes, and gives us a chance to get to know the person. Email: zach@bluetongueskinks.net

The nitty-gritty

• We offer a thirty day health guarantee, and ship to your door only.

• Shipping is $50.00 ($60.00 in Central and Eastern USA) UPS NextDay to your door.
SOMEONE MUST BE PRESENT TO ACCEPT THE PACKAGE THE NEXT MORNING.
• Money orders and checks are the preferred method of payment (checks held until payment clears), but PayPal is also accepted at a slightly higher price. (PP takes quite a bit of commission when dealing with large amounts of money).
• I know most people prefer a boy or a girl, but unfortunately it's not possible to determine gender at this young age without putting them at danger (i.e. probing). Probing is not 100% accurate as it is, and you risk seriously damaging the animal.
• Reserving a baby is accepted approximately 30 days pre the actual birth, and we require a deposit in the full payment amount. We're sorry to do this, but must, due to people changing their minds last minute—after the birth, if there are baby blueys left, and after reserved customers get first pic, you are welcome to pick and choose! EVERYONE is allowed to reserve if they wish. Unfortunately, we can never foretell a successful pregnancy, so if there were complications & the babies were not born, simple refunds would be issued.
• First come, first serve. Approximately 30 days prior to the estimated day of birth, pre-orders will be accepted. The first payments received will get to choose first when detailed pictures and personalities/temperaments are posted. Each bluey's health, temperament, and personality are carefully evaluated and posted.
• We only sell to NON-SMOKING homes. It is both unfair, and cruel to force any animal to breathe in second-hand smoke day in, and day out. Our animals require and deserve clean fresh air.
We ask that if you ever decide to sell your animal, please consult us first as it is possible we may be interested in buying the animal back for a fair price.
• If and when you choose or are eligible to purchase, we will send you a small list of simple questions consisting of information such as experience, your plans for the pet when on vacation, how and where the BTS will be kept, who the primary caregiver will be, etc.
• We reserve the right to refuse service to any individual if we feel they are unequipped or incapable of caring for a reptile.

2004 Babies: Phoebe, Jerry, PuppyD, Checkers, Igor, Wiiki, Cool Moe Dee
2005 Babies: Angel, Halo, Gargamel, Adrian, Mulder, Fyeta

Here is our list of babies for 2006! We've done things a little different this year...the only babies we have up for sale are from Renee's male IJ "NONA", and Slurpy's baby from 2004 "MOE". Moe Dee turned out beautiful and tame since keeping her from the 2004 babies. She's a bright orange and red BTS with an amazing personality and termperament. Since keeping her, we never intended to breed her since we didn't have a male IJ that would be suitable. But lo and behold, Renee Norred's male IJ, Nona, turned out to be perfect. He is a brilliant "goldenrod" color with once again, an amazing temperament. We thought that this was a match made in heaven, and the breeding was 100% successful. Eight gorgeous babies born June 27, 2006!

Meet Blackie. Yes, his name is Blackie even though is not black. See, he was born like a black crayon. Face and eye stripes dark as can be. Within a few sheds, he had turned orange as the sun! He's the largest, the best eater, and lovey as can be.

This is Curious George, or Georgie for short. He's the most curious of all the blueys, and is very high-spirited and quick to explore no matter where he is. Doesn't like to hold still!

Cool Moe Dee Jr (now, Maggie Moe Dee)! She's probably the calmest and has a very loving personality. She looks almost identical to her mother, and has a very similar personality/disposition. She is not dominant at all, and is a big pushover.

Ahh, the runt! We just call her "runt", and she's the smallest of the group of 8. She's fat, sweet, and had very pronounced coloring (from Nona) from nearly day 1. She's the most yellow and is turning into quite a beauty.

Doodle is the most mellow, well mannered bluey of the bunch. He almost never hides and is the first to scamper into your hands when the cage is opened. He is content to sit in your hand or just lay around and snuggle. Even if left to wander and explore, he never goes too far.

Bow is named for his special ‘bow-tie’ scale pattern on his nose. He has flaming red/orange coloration and has a spunky personality to match his color. He will explore in bursts, often looking up to make sure you are watching his accomplishments (or maybe trying to decide when he can make a break for it).

Freckles, named after his adorable spots on his chin, is the explorer of the bunch. Although he is a good eater, he is one of the first to eat his fill and then wander off to inspect things again. He has no qualms about being up in a branch and quite frequently climbs up to his look-out perch. He loves to come out of his cage, but once out, he won’t sit in your hand for long.

Bug loves food. Period. She will eat until there is no food left or until you take the food away. She also has near perfect bands. There are two bands on her tail that fork off a bit, so she humbly admits that she is not perfect. She is really mellow and not too curious and is content to sit in plain sight under the basking light and soak up the heat.
